Ultimate Guide to Living and Working as a Bangus Nomad
Every Wednesday, Nomadism.
Happy Wednesday, Bangus Nomads!
Jayson here.
We’re now on our third month of this incredible journey, and we’ve grown to over 1,000 subscribers—a community of aspiring digital nomads, remote workers, entrepreneurs, and creatives who are passionate about the freedom that digital work offers.
Every day, we’re working closely with businesses that are adapting to the new norms and supporting the remote work movement. From local coffee shops that provide a cozy workspace, to coworking hubs that are fully equipped for digital workers, we’re seeing more and more businesses embrace this shift.
When I first started Bangus Nomad, I envisioned building a community where everyone could share the same passion for digital freedom, all gathered in one place. With over a thousand of us now connected, that vision is becoming a reality.
Together, we’re shaping the future of work and digital nomadism in the Philippines.
We’re making remote work more accessible, creating opportunities for Filipinos to explore the world while pursuing meaningful careers, and fostering a community where everyone can grow and thrive.
We’d Love to Hear From You!
Do you know of any remote-worker-friendly spaces or businesses in your area? We’re always looking for recommendations to share with the community.
Also, if you’re willing to share your own bangus nomad story—whether you’re just starting out or you’re already living the lifestyle—let us know!
Your experience can inspire others on their journey.
For this week’s edition, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to all of you who continue to support and grow this amazing community.
Your enthusiasm and commitment to the bangus nomad lifestyle inspire me every day.
As someone who has personally experienced the challenges of traditional work setups, I’m a strong advocate for remote work and digital nomadism in the Philippines.
I believe in the freedom it provides—the ability to work from anywhere, to explore new places, and to find a balance between career and personal life. Remote work opens up opportunities for Filipinos, not just in major cities, but across the provinces, to pursue meaningful work while enjoying the beauty of our country.
I’m excited to share something special: the Ultimate Guide to Living and Working as a Bangus Nomad in the Philippines!
Whether you’re just starting your digital nomad journey or you’ve been on this path for a while, this guide will help you navigate everything from finding the best remote-friendly spots to balancing work and travel.
We already know that the Philippines is the fastest growing remote work hub in the world but WHY is the Philippines great for Bangus Nomads?
With so much to see and experience, it’s no surprise that millions flock here for vacations…but beyond the beaches and islands, the Philippines is also a fantastic destination for digital nomads. Here are just a few reasons why every digital nomad should visit the Philippines at least once in their lifetime.
Top 3 Destinations for Bangus Nomads in the Philippines
With over 7,000 islands, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed when deciding where to start in the Philippines.

Siargao

Siargao Island on the eastern side of the Philippines is quickly becoming a digital nomad hotspot—and it’s easy to see why! Famous for its epic surf spots like Cloud 9, Siargao strikes the perfect balance between adventure and chill vibes.
With its laid-back surfer scene, this island is the ultimate playground for those who want to mix work with a bit of fun in the sun. Beyond the waves, you'll find an amazing lineup of restaurants and bars to satisfy all your cravings.
Plus, with more and more coworking spaces popping up, Siargao has everything a digital nomad could dream of—modern workspaces, fast Wi-Fi, and a tropical paradise right outside your window. It’s the kind of place where work-life balance isn’t just a goal, it’s a lifestyle.
Metro Manila

Metro Manila is the bustling heart of the Philippines and home to the capital city, Manila. It’s a massive urban playground with something for everyone—whether you’re into shopping at mega malls, exploring centuries-old churches, hitting up amusement parks, or diving into local culture at museums.
For digital nomads, Makati and BGC are the places to be! These upscale areas not only offer the fastest WiFi but also gorgeous parks, top-notch coworking spaces, and an endless list of restaurants and cafes to explore. You’ll never run out of things to do (or eat) while you’re getting stuff done.
Cebu

Cebu City might be one of the largest cities in the Philippines, but it’s still more chill compared to the hustle and bustle of Metro Manila. Its central location makes it a perfect base for exploring not just Cebu Island, but also nearby spots like Negros and Bohol.
Cebu is a dream for digital nomads, thanks to its vibrant expat scene and tons of coworking spaces right in the city. Plus, if you’re craving a beachside work setup, you can find coliving and coworking spots by the sea. If you’re looking for the ultimate blend of city excitement and beach relaxation, Cebu is where you’ll want to be.
